🏛️ The Guardian’s Riddle
A collaborative drawing quest at the British Museum Friday 15 August, 6:00 pm –7:30 pm
Step into the museum after hours and join a team of fellow artists on a guided drawing adventure. Led by artist and facilitator Franceska McCullough, you’ll solve poetic riddles, uncover hidden objects, and create symbolic sketches that build toward a shared myth.
You might find yourself:
🗝️ Decoding a scroll to locate a mysterious sculpture
✏️ Drawing a guardian creature using only spirals and whispered words
🤝 Linking your marks with others to form a collective “map of protection”
đź”® Inventing lore as a group and naming your creation before the museum closes
This is a non-academic, imaginative class for adults. No drawing experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to co-create.
👥 Group Size & AvailabilityThis is a small-scale drawing adventure, limited to just 8 participants to keep things quiet, collaborative, and immersive.Spaces are offered on a first-come, first-served basis—early booking is recommended.
🧺 Art packets available for £5 (canvas bag, sketchbook, pencils, eraser, blending sticks).Please contact Franceska in advance if you’d like one, so she can bring enough.
🕰️ Where & When to Meet
Please meet at 6:00 pm sharp beneath the central dome in the Great Court of the British Museum, near the circular information desk. Look for Franceska, holding a sign with the title of the class. We’ll enter the galleries together at 6:10 pm, and once the class begins, Franceska won’t be able to answer her phone—so punctuality is key.
